I completed my PhD in Translation Studies at University College London. In my doctoral dissertation, I analysed and translated the work of French poet C茅cile Sauvage, with a focus on the translator鈥檚 creativity and the affective relationship between translator and text. Alongside my academic commitments, I am also a practicing literary translator. My latest translation from the French, a novel called Fowl Eulogies (World Editions, 2023) was shortlisted for the PEN Translation Prize.
I joined the Open University in 2024 as Lecturer in French and Translation.
I contribute to Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced French language modules (L102, L112, and L332), as well as to MA Translation Studies modules on theory and practice (L801, L802).
I am interested in the development of practical, knowledge, and language skills for translators as well as helping aspiring literary translators to navigate the publishing field.
