Stage 1 (120 credits)

For鈥痬odern language modules, your choice鈥痑t Stage 1 will depend on your current level of language proficiency. If you are unsure about your current level, you can use our鈥痮谤鈥痵别别鈥Entry requirements鈥痜or more advice.
We strongly recommend that you do not study a beginner and intermediate module in the same language concurrently鈥痷nless you already have sufficient prior knowledge of the language to study at the intermediate level.
Stage 2 (120 credits)
In Stage 2, you’ll explore the evolution and diversification of English. You&/courses/languages/degrees/ba-language-studies-english-french-q30-ef/39;ll also expand on your ability to use French and your cultural knowledge of France and other French-speaking countries.
Stage 3 (120 credits)
In Stage 3, you&/courses/languages/degrees/ba-language-studies-english-french-q30-ef/39;ll continue your English studies with a choice of modules. For your final French module, you’ll advance your understanding of the society and culture of contemporary France and French-speaking countries, as well as extend the practical skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in French.
